Entry#2 My Favorite Book

I have lots of favorite books. But one that I think about a lot is called Red Roses and Black Dahlias. It is about this troubled teen whose house gets broken into and her parents get killed along with one of the intruders. The police show up to the house and one of the officers has been the officer dealing with this troubled teen. She trusts this officer a lot and he offer to take her and her sister in. The reason I liked this story was because it pulled you in will all these theories and made you think about what happened but then it throws you a curveball that you never expected. 


This book has made me feel just about every emotion and the end wasn't even a theory I had made up about why the guys broke into their house. I love books like this. The mess with your mind and when you least expect it, they do something that was so unpredictable you sit there just staring at the book in awe. Another reason this is one of my all-time favorite books is the relationship between her and her sister. She would do anything in her power to protect her sister and in fact she did do everything to protect her. She did things no teen should ever have to even think about. I relate to the book in that way I would do anything for my sisters. I have a 14-year age-gap with one older-little sister and a 17-year age-gap with my little-little sister. In my mind they are kind of like my own because of how much I take care of them. So yes, I would do anything in my power to make sure they are safe. 

This book is so unpredictable and out there that it just makes you sit and truly think about what just happened. It allows you to be scared, happy, angry, and even nervous for or with the characters. This is why it is one of my favorite books of all time.

 When you think about the foods you consume are there good thoughts running through your mind or bad thoughts. Do you think about what long term affects the foods you consume would leave on your body? You only get one body in your life so wouldn't you like to have a healthy one? When you think of fast foods do you know how that food is made and processed? Or when you look at the grocery store do you know where all those foods come from? These are all questions that can allow us to start thinking about what we are putting into our bodies. In the movie Fresh it is showing us the reality of foods. It shows us a new side and makes me personal want to eat fresh and organic foods. Which is better than fast foods and such but only to an extent.  After watching this movie, it is showing us the reality of how foods get to us and what they go to for us to get them. Food Quest Entry #9

 When looking for a comic that works with my Essay 3 prompt, I found a variety of different comics that could work. But this particular comic I thought was funny but also relevant to my point for the essay. It shows that when they used pesticides on the flowers, they lost points from the inspector.  In the comic shows a man spraying pesticides on the flowers and the bee is the inspector who says that the food is okay, but points are lost for the seasoning. It is funny because the bee is normally the one who uses the flowers, and he is the one talking to the man about losing points for pesticides that make the bees go away.  This is relevant because pesticides kill the pests that go on the plants that they spray the pesticides on, but it also means that if they spray them on our foods, we also ingest them.

Favorite movie Entry #4

      My favorite movie would have to be John Wick. I grew up watching these movies with my dad and also my uncle. We would watch them when nothing else sounded or looked good. I love it because of the action of course. Some of the scenes really make you question if it is even possible, but it is just a movie. This movie is a great movie, but it also is tied to memories for me.      Spoiler!!      Every time I rewatch the first movie I have to fast forward or look away when they unalive the puppy. It just breaks my heart but then that is when John goes and does what he does best. I just always as a kid told myself if anyone touched my dogs I would become John Wick. I know when unrealistic, but dogs are just very special to me.
